En route to a dinner party, Elaine and Jerry pair off to buy a babka. George’s jacket gets in the way at the liquor store where he and Kramer look for a bottle of wine.

Jerry and Elaine mock George’s new Gore-Tex jacket, and argue with George over the inappropriateness of bringing Pepsi instead of wine to a dinner party.

Jerry and Elaine go to pick up a chocolate babka for their dinner party, but have to settle for cinnamon, and Jerry treats himself to a black and white cookie, which he sees as a symbol for racial harmony (“look to the cookie Elaine, look to the cookie!”) But thanks to the cookie, Jerry vomits for the first time since June 29, 1980, and Elaine almost has her toe broken.

George and Kramer go to pick up a bottle of wine for their dinner party (a $12 bottle that George pays with a $100 bill), but George ends up accidentally destroying a number of bottle, forcing him to pay off the damage with his Goretex jacket. The store is implied to be down the street from Royal Bakery, where Jerry and Elaine are picking up dessert for the same party.
