The Pie (season 5, episode 15)
written by Tom Gammill & Max Pross, directed by Tom Cherones
original airdate: February 17, 1994
Jerry meets his girlfriend’s father, Poppie, and loses his appetite. Elaine discovers that a mannequin resembling her has been showing up in window displays. George plots a strategy to buy a suit on sale. Kramer dates a Monk’s cashier.
Jerry and George obsess over Audrey’s refusal to try Jerry’s apple pie. Kramer tells Elaine about her lookalike mannequin he discovered in a clothing store.
Jerry becomes obsessed with finding out why his new girlfriend refuses to try the apple pie from Monk’s. Kramer dates Olive, a cashier at Monk’s, after he discovers her long nails cure his nagging constant back itch.
Rinitze (NOT REAL)
New York, NEW YORK
Kramer discovers an Elaine doppelganger mannequin (“it’s like they chopped off your arms and legs, dipped you in plastic, then screwed you all back together and stuck you on a pedestal!”) here, which she later steals from the store. George strategizes on how to get a suit soon to be on sale, having to trick a “fellow 40 short” into not buying the suit. Kramer mentions that the store is downtown.
Poppie’s (NOT REAL)
New York, NEW YORK
Jerry catches Poppie not washing his hands (“Poppie’s…a little sloppy”)…and then refuses to try his pizza, in a similar fashion to Audrey’s refusal of his apple pie. Audrey takes a reservation and says that Poppie’s is on 77th St…but the awning says “1394,” which doesn’t extend that far on 77th St. in Manhattan.
Jerry drops off Elaine (and the lookalike mannequin) at her office after their trip to Rinitze, on Jerry’s way to Poppie’s.
